You wake up in a graveyard at midnight with a sputtering lantern and no memory, except your name on the headstone. Your golden retriever digs her way out of the grave next to yours. Together you walk the Lantern Road to find out what happened, catching and raising the creatures of the night along the way.
Creatures of the night
69 hand-drawn creatures to catch and raise, from lantern-bugs to ghost-cats. After dark, Hollow creatures roam: stronger, stranger, and yours to rekindle at a shrine's fire.
Your lantern is the light
Forests, caves and shrines are lit only by your lantern and whatever glows. Every Ember you earn from a shrine's Keeper makes it burn brighter.
A dog who knows the way
Mlemmy follows you everywhere, steals socks, and fights at your side. Lost? Press SELECT and she sniffs out the way while your lantern's sparks light the path.
Shrines with real puzzles
Light sconces in the dark, find the pressure plates, set braziers burning in the order the sun crosses the sky, then face each shrine's Keeper.
A handheld from another era
160 by 144 pixels, four-color tiles, a four-voice chiptune soundtrack and a D-pad under your thumb. Every tile and every note was made for this game.
The story keeps going
Chapter 1 is free. One purchase unlocks Chapter 2 and every new chapter as it arrives in free updates. Your save carries over every time.

How do I save?
Duskward saves by itself whenever you move to a new area and when you leave the app. You can also pick SAVE from the START menu at any time.
I'm lost. Where do I go next?
Press SELECT, or pick HINT from the START menu. Mlemmy sniffs the air, sparks from your lantern trace the next stretch of the path, and a line tells you your current goal.
How does the unlock work?
Chapter 1 is free. When you reach Cinder Pass at the start of Chapter 2 (or any time, from UNLOCK in the START menu), you can unlock the rest of the story with one purchase. It includes every chapter we add later, at no extra cost. There are no ads and nothing else to buy.
I reinstalled, or I'm on a new device. Is my unlock gone?
No. Your purchase is tied to your Apple Account and restores on its own when the game starts. If it doesn't, press START, choose UNLOCK, then RESTORE. Family Sharing is supported.
Will my save survive new chapters?
Yes. Updates add new places and story; your team, items and progress carry over.
Can I turn the music down?
Duskward follows your iPhone's ring/silent switch and volume buttons, so switching to silent mutes it.
What does Duskward collect about me?
Nothing. The game has no accounts, analytics, ads or tracking, and your save stays on your device. (This website uses basic page analytics.) See the Duskward privacy policy.
